Hiring Range:  $19.23-$21.20 

Starting salary may be adjusted depending on experience.

Qualifications

1. High School Diploma or G.E.D. with three (3) or more years of full-time administrative or clerical experience

                  OR

    Associate's Degree in Business, Accounting, or related field and one (1) year or more of full-time administrative or clerical experience

                 OR

    Bachelor's Degree or higher in Business, Accounting, or related field

2. Excellent internal and external customer service skills

3. Excellent oral and written communication skills and organization skills

4. Experience working with and assisting the public

5. Experience using Microsoft Office Software to include Word, Excel and Outlook

Responsibilities

• Answers questions from public regarding information on business licenses through telephone calls, email or over the counter
• Deposits money received from departments and/or businesses and issues receipts
• Posts deposit to appropriate account number
• Inputs, reviews and posts business tax and license forms received in the lock box to appropriate accounts
• Balances lock box batches and compare to system totals; maintains accurate files for department
• Receives and enters City business license & taxes applications received over the counter, in the mail or electronically
• Determines classification and issues business licenses
• Enters and receipts tax money received over the counter and posts to appropriate account
• Mails tax forms (sales, use, liquor, lease/rental, lodgings, residential lease) to businesses as required
• Posts renewal information to accounts 
• Forwards all telephone calls/emails to appropriate personnel
• Contacts businesses by mail, email or telephone on unpaid taxes
• Assists revenue personnel in preparing reports of delinquent taxes and in the processing and classification of monies to the proper accounts of taxes received from other agencies
• Issues reports to various departments
• Assists City employees in researching accounts
• Processes requisitions and follows up on purchase orders for department
• Performs other related duties as required
