Revenue Accounting Director is responsible for the development and direction of revenue cycle management operations for the organization that optimize the patient financial interaction along the care continuum. Develops strategies to optimize operations and to ensure sufficient cash flow. Being a Revenue Accounting Director establishes targets, policies, and internal controls that will drive improvements and efficiencies in overall service revenue capture and collection. Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements and responsiveness to changes in requirements. Additionally, Revenue Accounting Director coordinates with stakeholders across the organization to drive optimal financial performance. Requires a bachelor's degree. May require Certified Public Accountant (CPA). Typically reports to the cfo or top management. The Revenue Accounting Director manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments.   • Job Summary: Under limited direction from a senior level manager, uses specialized knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and skills obtained through experience to manage accounting processes for the company and the shared services team. Prepares, interprets and summarizes confidential financial data for use by management, and resolves or recommends solutions to complex problems. Performs varied business operations and administrative duties of a highly confidential nature requiring the application of initiative and independent judgment, as well as thorough knowledge of company policies, practices and organization. Provides recommendations to improve the financial and operational performance of the organization. Extensive contact with internal team members, clients and board members, and business prospects is required to meet objectives.  

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

    ·         Responsible for overseeing the entire range client services relating to internal accounting including Accounts Payables and Receivables, Payroll and Banking.

    ·         Plans, assigns, monitors and manages the work of others.

    ·         Coaches, mentors, evaluates results achieved and reviews performance of direct reports.

    ·         Interprets, applies and recommends changes to organizational policies and procedures.

    ·         Reviews progress of assignments with senior management.

    ·         Ensures strict compliance with company financial policies and guidelines, GAAP, accounting practices and procedures, timely completion of all accounting tasks and routings.

    ·         Responsible for updating and developing policies, systems, special financial studies of major importance.

    ·         Advise management on matters of fiscal procedure and importance for the organization.

    ·         Works with confidential data, which, if disclosed, might have significant internal or external effect.

    ·         Regularly troubleshoots various departmental concerns related to routine and non-routine processes and procedures.  

    ·         Works with senior management and business analysts to reviews practices, processes and procedures and revises as necessary for compliance and/or streamlining and efficiency purposes.

    ·         Compiles and analyzes data from multiple sources and assists in the development of the Financial One annual budget and business plan. Conducts a comparative analysis to ensure consistency.

    ·         Regularly and accurately processes Financial One Accounting payroll.

    ·         Regularly monitors and provides information on the financial operations of the company to senior management.  Provides recommendation to improve the financial and operational performance based on analysis performed.

    ·         Performs cross-functional analysis on monthly reporting outputs to ensure consistency and accuracy, follow-up on unusual trends and variances.

    ·         Completes regular budget reporting and forecasting to ensure performance of targeted operational income for Financial One.

    ·         Analyzes and distributes monthly expense vs. budget report – track expenses by client; identify areas of concern and provide explanation to senior management.

    ·         Work with appropriate parties to forecast and reallocate expenses appropriately.

    ·         Generates and disseminates monthly client billings and manages the collections process for Financial One.

    ·         Conducts monthly client billing analysis to determine special billing opportunities. Processes issues, service or scope changes to bring services within an acceptable charge range or generate consideration of contract changes and/or amendments.

    ·         Coordinates executive's calendar on a daily basis.

    ·         Types confidential correspondence, proposals, spreadsheets, graphs, reports, and other materials for distribution and/or presentation. As well as, transcribe, if required, make corrections and send out correspondence as requested.

    ·         Regularly reviews and monitors vendor relationships and contracts for service and cost efficiencies.

    ·         Coordinates travel and hotel accommodations, meetings and appointments with high attention to detail. 

    ·         May oversee and directs projects related to assigned functional areas.

    ·         Maintains currency in GAAP rules and procedures as well as effective and efficient accounting processes and procedures.

    ·         Balances conflicting resource and priority demands.

    ·         Maintains regular and consistent attendance.

    ·         Operates standard office equipment and uses required software applications.

    ·         Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned. 

    Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

    Knowledge of:

    ·         Advanced concepts, principles, practices and procedures of internal accounting operations departments/functions.

    ·         Advanced knowledge of GAAP.

    ·         Fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of financial system administration

    ·         Advanced concepts, practices and procedures used in Accounting close processes including knowledge of consolidation and reporting.

    Skill in:

    ·         Operating standard office equipment and using required software applications, including Microsoft Office. Prior experience with Financial Edge NXT, QuickBooks, and ADP or other HRM systems is preferred.

    Ability to:

    ·         Partner with other functional areas to accomplish objectives.

    ·         Facilitate meetings, ensuring that all viewpoints, ideas and problems are addressed.

    ·         Incorporate needs, wants and goals from different business unit perspectives into functioning processes and procedures.

    ·         Read, interpret, analyze and apply information from internal and external clients to provide direction to direct reports.

    Educational/Previous Experience Requirements:

    ·         Minimum Degree Required:

    o    Bachelor’s Degree

    ·         Required Disciplines:

    o    Accounting, Finance, Business or a relate field

    ·         At least 8 years’ experience in Accounting with at least 5 years in a supervisory/management capacity preferably managing Accounting operations functions. Any equivalent combination of experience, education, and/or training approved by Human Resources.
