SUMMARY:

The Part-Time Thrift Store Clerk position will assist the Thrift Store Manager and Assistant

Up to 24 hours a week - 10am-3pm Tuesday through Friday one week and 10am-3pm Tuesday through Thursday and 10-4 Saturday the next week.

• Responsible for receiving, sorting, and organizing all donations:
• Manage the intake of all donations in the donation bay during all seasons
• Assist with retrieving donations from the donor or vehicle
• Provide, offer and fill out the tax receipts book - alert the store manager when new tax books need to be ordered. Maintain and store all filled-out tax book records.
• Manage and coordinate all donation time 10 am - 12 pm volunteers and those performing community service hours
• Friendly interaction with the community donors/customers as they are the life source of our inventory
• Appreciation for thinking of us as a recipient of their donations and sharing our mission of hope and any upcoming fundraiser dates
• Sort and organize items and place them in the appropriate staging areas for sales in-store and online, as well as the trailer, and other disposal areas
• Oversee staging for donations in the appropriate areas such as shoes, jewelry, clothing, books, household, and the charity shoes trailer
• Keep the donation bay and staging area as neat as possible with the walking path cleared
• Check the front of the store daily for any donations brought in through the front door
• Open and close the store and the register on your scheduled Saturdays
• Take all accumulated trash from the donation bay, offices, and kitchen before trash pick-up days
• Empty all CS bins, including bagging and labeling, and placing items in the appropriate area

You will be evaluated in part based on your performance of the above-defined duties and responsibilities. Other duties will be necessary as required and/or requested.
