Sales Promotions Coordinator administers sales promotion campaigns that promote products and support the marketing and branding strategy of the organization. Assists in researching, evaluating and recommending tactics that enhance the market positioning of the organization's products or services. Being a Sales Promotions Coordinator works to create and convey brand messages to improve brand awareness and perception. Helps identify and evaluate promotional merchandise suppliers with the best pricing, products, and delivery options. Additionally, Sales Promotions Coordinator plans and coordinates distribution of materials with internal teams. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Sales Promotions Coordinator work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role. Examinations:
Appraisal (Weight 100%): of training, education, experience, interest and personal fitness for the work based on any combination of the following: Investigation, oral exam and rating of application.
The Human Resources Division may solely conduct an appraisal of application materials should there be an insufficient number of candidates to warrant an oral examination. Should an oral examination be necessary, the oral examination will be weighted 100%.
Examination components for promotional testing will be administered during the scheduled date/time/location without exception.
Applicants must attain at least a 70% score on each phase of the exam process.
Minimum Qualifications/ Employment Standards:
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor's degree in Public or Business Administration, Marketing, Communications, Television, Journalism or a closely related field; AND three (3) years of contemporary marketing, advertising, public relations, professional multimedia communications, television production or related experience; OR any equivalent combination of education, training and contemporary experience.
Possession of a Film Commission Fundamentals certification, Association of Film Commissioners International (AFCI) is desirable.
A valid California Motor Vehicle Driver's License is required and must be maintained throughout the duration of employment.

This is a Department Promotional Examination and is only open to eligible employees of Kern County Public Health Services Department who have permanent status in the classified service and received an overall standard or better on their last employee performance report.
Admittance to the examination will require a valid government issued photograph identification. Applicants who are unable to present proper identification must make arrangements with the Human Resources Division prior to the test date.
A background check may be conducted for this classification.
Following an offer of employment, you may be required to submit to post offer medical and drug screening tests at County expense.
This examination will establish an eligible list from which immediate appointment(s) will be made. Other permanent and temporary appointments will be made as needed. Successful candidates will remain on the eligible list for a period of twelve-months, unless specified otherwise by the Civil Service Commission. Candidates are encouraged to indicate acceptable geographical locations in which they would accept employment on their application form. Candidates MUST be willing to travel to these locations (areas/district offices).
