POSITION DESCRIPTION

As a Print Processing Specialist at Summit Marketing, you will play a pivotal role in the planning and financial management of our print and lettershop vendor relationships. You will work closely with the Procurement Manager to provide estimates needed for purchasing materials and support the overall print production process. You will work closely with internal teams and our vendors to ensure the success of all direct mail jobs.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

· Understand and manage print production process for direct mail fundraising appeals.

· Create and submit purchase orders utilizing an ERP system with the ability to prioritize and expedite orders depending on customer needs.

· Proofread production specs from printing vendors.

· Accurately quote various print and direct mail projects.

· Coordinate with vendors on print jobs, proofs, and delivery of materials.

· Negotiating with vendors to achieve desirable pricing, lead times, and supplier terms.

· Estimate costs of projects based off provided specification including time, services and materials needed.

· Develop timelines and production plan, balancing client needs and the current production schedule.

· Review actual job costs and specifications to confirm jobs are on budget.

· Maintain positive relationships with current suppliers and develop new supply contacts to ensure we remain competitive in our market.

· Help Account Executives define and clarify project specifications for successful completion of the client’s projects.

· Work with other departments to exceed customer satisfaction and service expectations.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assist Procurement Manager with lettershop pricing and vendor selection.

Understand lettershop pricing to assist Procurement Manager.

• Order additional printed materials, as needed.

• Identifies opportunities and implements measures for process efficiency, cost savings, and other improvements.

• Participate in material quantity, quality, and claim issues with vendors.

WORKING CONDITIONS

Office environment
Monday thru Friday 8:30 – 5:00 pm CST

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

· A bachelor's degree in marketing, business, advertising, or a related field is preferred.

· A minimum of 3 years’ experience working in a letter shop or commercial printer, with planning, buying and forecasting with knowledge of direct mail preferred.

· Strong math skills are required to be successful in this position.

· Strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to interpret data and make informed purchasing decisions.

· Exceptional organizational skills and experience with managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines.

· Must be computer proficient and have a good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and ERP systems.

· Excellent negotiation and communication skills, both written & verbal.

· Demonstrated experience working in cross-functional teams and assisting in project management.

· Understanding of print and design principles and good working knowledge of the end-to-end print process.

· Must be flexible, open-minded and be a good listener.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $45,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
