Security Guard - Armed provides security and guards buildings, grounds, materials, work sites, or other venues. Monitors security systems and responds to alarms, reports of issues, or requests for assistance. Being a Security Guard - Armed patrols an assigned location. Follows required gate-keeping procedures such as verifying visitor credentials, conducting inspections, or preparing paperwork. Additionally, Security Guard - Armed may operate an access control or identity system to control building access. Completes shift activity logs and inputs to systems. Typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Requires Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Typically requires Firearms Certification. May require a Security Guard License. Oscar Mike Security is accepting applications for Level 3 armed officers for our Lago Mar Lagoon in Texas City. These are part time/seasonal postings with shifts from 10:00 AM-6:00 PM on weekends beginning Spring Break on March 9, 2024 until Memorial Day weekend when shifts move to 10:00 AM-8:00 PM until Labor Day 2024.
Applicants must have a valid Level 3 commissioned license in hand and will supply their own duty weapon and rig.
Must be able to work in cooler weather. as well as extreme heat. Must be knowledgeable of and able to enforce the Texas Penal Code, and laws governing the Use of Force.. Must have good written and verbal communication skills. Must be able to work with law enforcement at times.
Responsibilities will include crowd control with crowds of 4000-5000 people, enforcing applicable park rules, and laws of the State of Texas. Assisting unarmed guards at points of entry with contraband checks when needed, and maintaining good general order. Must be able to work on your feet for prolonged periods of time. Must be in constant radio contact with other OMS personnel.
Must be neat and professional in appearance. Must practice good grooming and hygienic standards.
While on duty, OMS will not allow any visible body piercings on any armed personnel. Any facial hair must be neatly groomed and trimmed. While on duty male officers will have hair no longer than collar length, dreadlocks or braids. Female officers that have longer hair must be able to keep it in a ponytail, in a bun or braid.
Applicants will undergo a thorough background check to include a criminal history check. OMS will not hire anyone with a criminal history of a Class B MIsdemeanor or higher.
