Security Guard - Armed jobs in Newport News, VA

Duties:

• Provides security services to protect property and personnel
• Conducts regular patrols to ensure the safety and security of premises
• Enforce access control procedures and verify the identity of individuals entering the premises
• Maintains the organization’s stability and reputation by complying with legal requirements.
• Respond to emergencies and incidents, including medical emergencies, fires, or criminal activity.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

Skills:

• Excellent knowledge of security protocols and procedures
• Strong observation and surveillance skills
• Ability to remain calm and composed in high-pressure situations
• Must be able to stand for up to 4 hours
• Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs.
• Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
• Excellent sense of judgment
• Can stay alert at all times

Education and Experience Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent required
• Minimum of 3 years of security experience
• CPR/First Aid preferred
• Must be DCSJ certified
• Security certificiation preferred
• Must be at least 21 years old

Job Types: Part-time, Contract

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
