  • JOB SUMMARY: The Senior Operations Manager is responsible for oversight and management of the Merits USA operational policies, objectives, and initiatives. This position has an overall responsibility for safety, quality, production, warehouse, logistics, purchasing, and facilities. This role will take a hands-on approach to management plans, guides, and directs the company’s operations to achieve the organization’s objectives.

     

    ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organizational policies and procedures. Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following. Other duties may be assigned as needed. 

     

    • Develop, manage, analyze/review, and approve processes and procedures to ensure quality with operations activities and initiatives.
    • Coach and develop team members to build high performing teams.
    • Collaborate across the organization to develop processes to improve business objectives.
    • Analyze, set strategies, and develop actions to achieve objectives.
    • Develop, implement, and monitor day-to day operational systems and processes that provide visibility into goals, progress, and obstacles for our key initiatives.
    • Build and maintain relationships across the company, and with external partners/vendors, to make decisions regarding operational activity and strategic goals.
    • Plan, monitor, and analyze key metrics for the day-to-day performance of the operations to ensure efficient and timely completion of tasks.
    • Devise strategies to ensure growth of programs, identifying and implementing process improvements that will maximize output and minimize costs.
    • Uphold organization policies and standards.
    • Plan, update, and provide ongoing training to ensure team consistently and continuously performs above standards.
    • Collaborate cross-functionally to achieve quality objectives.
    • Collaborate cross functionally during new product roll outs and all activities associated such as, but not limited to, the funneling of product introductions, trainings, order processes, etc.
    • Interview, hire, train, mentor, monitor, evaluate, and/or provide support and guidance to team members as per company policies and procedures, in a timely manner with applicable documentation.
    • Stay abreast with product and industry trends.
    • Follow company safety and compliance policies and participate in safety training as required.
    • Possess excellent written and verbal communications, with a strong ability to delegate responsibilities and collaborate across a wide range of departments.
    • Work closely reporting managers to lead teams with integrity and establish/maintain a trusting, inclusive, and productive environment.
    • Attend evening calls and team meetings with Merits Taiwan (parent company).
    • Other duties as assigned.


    COMPETENCIES & QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. 

     

    • Operations Management experience is necessary to foster a dynamic quality-centered department.
    • Must have analytical skills and be able to apply Quality concepts to operations products and processes.
    • Exceptionally strong technical, analytical and problem-solving skills.
    • Understanding of Technical, mechanical, and/or electrical skills.
    • Recent experience and skills are needed with ERP and / or CRM systems (such as Epicor, NetSuite, or similar).
    • Proficiency with MS Office applications is necessary (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, SharePoint).
    • Excellent leadership and decision-making skills and must be able to collaborate with professional and friendly mannerisms.
    • Ability to consistently and effectively present information and respond in a timely manner to high email/message volume, to questions or inquiries from other employees, managers, vendors, and the public if needed.
    • Must have the ability to comprehend customer and team member behaviors and can professionally and respectfully address challenges when they arise.
    • Ability to successfully meet deadlines and prioritize workload for self and teams.
    • Ability to lead, motivate and mentor teams.
    • Solid organizational and excellent time management skills, with the ability to work under pressure.
    • Must have experience managing multiple site locations.
    • Ability to travel outside of the US on a limited basis.
    • Must have an employment record free and clear of any serious infarctions including, but not limited to, a history free and clear of limitations which may cause/may have caused safety concerns, issues, incidents and/or accidents.
    • Must speak, read, and write English and have excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
    • Must have a valid US Driver’s License and maintain throughout employment.

     

    Educational Requirements: A bachelor’s degree in a related field (or other relevant disciplines) is required with at least ten (10) recent years of related management experience in Operations Management; or an equivalent combination of education, vocational training, and related industry experience.

     

    Physical Demands:  While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit for extended periods of time, but also will be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb/climb ladders or balance; use of hands to handle or feel objects; reach with hands and arms; frequently required to talk and hear; active use of computer. 

     

    The employee is required to lift or move up to seventy-five (75) pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

    Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job the business office atmosphere, the noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate, cool to ambient climate temperatures and moderately clean.

     

    If performing the duties in the warehousing and/or manufacturing operations atmosphere, the employee may need to work near moving mechanical parts. The noise levels in these work environments can be moderate to loud; ambient climate temperatures to occasional humid and hot (depending on season), dry, dusty to moderately clean. Employees may need to wear/use safety equipment / PPE which will be provided by the company. 

     

    If performing the job duties when telecommuting, the employee will be solely responsible for establishing an appropriate work environment within the off-site location for work purposes. Merits Healthcare Products, Inc. will not be responsible for costs associated with the setup of the employee's home office, such as remodeling, furniture, or lighting, nor for repairs or modifications of a home office space. Telecommuting in lieu of working from a company location is prohibited without prior approval obtained from a direct Manager.
