We are an established medical specialty practice in Sarasota, FL currently seeking a reliable and experienced Front Office Receptionist. This position is one of the most important in the office as it involves daily and constant contact with the public, vendors, and most importantly our patients, with the goal of making them feel welcome and comfortable. A love of working with people and having positive energy in everything you do is a must for this job as your attitude as a leader sets the tone for the whole office! It is also important that you are experienced with EHR/EMR as this position involves some basic medical documentation/data entry on a daily basis. Medical terminology, excellent organizational skills, administrative proficiency, and the ability to perform in all situations.

You will be responsible for day-to-day operations, planning and implementing the Dr.'s vision and policies, organizing the office schedule for staff and patients, maintaining medical and staff records, while also serving as the Front Receptionist. You should demonstrate knowledge of healthcare operations, insurance processes, collection of copays and deductibles, and triaging for appointments. Ultimately, you will be responsible to ensure steady workflows and uninterrupted service in our medical office.

Responsibilities

• Be the "face" of the Medical Office as the first impression made on telephone and in person to patients, vendors, and the general public representing the practice in the utmost professional and caring manner
• Listen to and answer questions as the patient and public relations representative
• Ensure compliance with current healthcare regulations, medical laws and high ethical standards
• Insurance verification/collecting deductibles & copays
• EHR/EMR proficiency, maintain patient medical records
• Work with Doctor, Office Manager, and Medical Assistant to identify areas for improvement/potential office flow interruptions
• Provide informative material for patients
• Inventory control, order office and occasional medical supplies
• Assist in back office as needed with rooming patients and cleaning rooms
• Discuss care of patients with third parties such as referral sources, etc.
• Create invoices for medical records requests and follow up as needed
• Call referrals of potential new patients for appointments

Skills

• Proven work experience as a Medical Receptionist or medical Office Manager with impeccable organizational and time management skills
• Knowledge of medical insurance, medical data and administrative processes, CPT & ICD-10 basic coding/billing premises
• Ability to handle medical records discreetly according to HIPAA regulations
• Knowledge of medical terminology and experience with EHR/EMR
• Ability to be flexible, multi-task, and perform well in a variety of situations
• Excellent communication skills and customer service orientation
• Mastery of Word, Excel, email, and other similar office software

Work Remotely

• No, must have reliable transportation.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $20.50 per hour
