In Kansas City, Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies (FM&T) manages and operates the U.S. Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration’s (NNSA) Kansas City National Security Campus. This state-of-the-art engineering, manufacturing and sourcing facility produces a wide array of intricate components to deliver trusted national security products and government services primarily for the NNSA. Summary:
Provide leadership and support in the areas of Outreach, Training, Recognition, In-reach, and Market Research to help ensure that FMT Small Business goals and requirements are met.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure the success of Honeywell FM&T’s Small Business Program by working with procurement, line organizations, and capable and competent small businesses to optimize the opportunity for contract awards to Small Business (SB), Service-Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDV), HUBZone Small Business (HUB), Small Disadvantaged Business (SDB), Veteran Owned Small Business (VOS), Alaska Native Owned Contractors (ANC), Tribally Owned Concerns (TOC), and Woman Owned Small Business (WOSB)
- Search for and locate potential SB suppliers and connect them into buyers/internal business customers
- Create/maintain supplier lists by category/type and share with buyers/internal customers
- Review lower tier subcontracting plans for utilization of SB, SDV, HUB, SDB, VOS, ANC, TOC, and WOSB when such a plan is required by the contract and ensure that plans meet applicable requirements.
- Train buyers (purchasing, p-card and direct order requisitions) on SB requirements/procedures
- Plan and execute buyer and other SB recognition/reward/incentive programs
- Facilitate teams of buyers on category/spend flips
- Write articles, promote SB “wins”, opportunities and programs throughout Honeywell FM&T and our supply chain – Create and manage Small Business Visual Management in Purchasing
- Serve as backup/provide support to SBPM on all required duties spelled out in Subcontracting Plan
- Help ensure FMT meets all SB requirements/goals. Identify and lead recovery plans when needed for lagging socio-economic metrics
- Participates as Honeywell FM&T’s representative in small business outreach events specifically intended to offer opportunities for participants to do business with Honeywell FM&T
