Small Engine Mechanic repairs fractional-horsepower gasoline engines used to power lawnmowers, garden tractors, and similar machines. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Being a Small Engine Mechanic may have to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty with 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Small Engine Mechanic relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Job Responsibilities
- Perform venipuncture for phlebotomy and catheter placement
- Obtain laboratory sample, collection, process, and interpret results as directed by doctor including by not limited to fecal/parasite analysis, ear cytology, skin cytology, urinalysis, and blood smears.
- Administer vaccines and medications (oral, topical, injectable)
- Prep and anesthetize surgical patients and perform dental cleanings
- Radiographs
- Effectively communicate and educate clients
- Use of computerized medical records and invoicing
Qualifications
- State of NY Veterinary Technician License required
- Motivated to maintain standards and high quality of patient care, and excellent client services.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience preferred will consider Licensed new grads
- Experience with AVImark veterinary software a plus but will provide training as needed.
- We can offer a flexible schedule which includes weekdays, and may include some weekends as needed.
- Hourly wage and sign on bonus are commensurate with experience
