Mission: Safety Specialist
Provide direction for all aspects related to safety and the environment in the facility. Ensure all employees are following safe work habits; ensure compliance with all safety and environment initiatives and legal requirements.
Responsibilities:
Work with different departments to identify hazards and opportunities for safety improvements
Investigate all incidents and accidents to determine root cause analysis
Coordinate and lead various training sessions
Coordinate, participate in, and coach the operations team by attending meetings, conducting facility inspections and incident investigations
Complete inspection audits in operational processes and operational equipment to ensure safety standards are being met
Coordinate efforts of consultants with manufacturing maintenance and tooling schedules
Promote team involvement activities to improve systems used in the production area to increase efficiency
Track incident data and provide trends to operational teams – KPI tracking
Additional responsibilities as required – this position is subject to change as the needs of the department change
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 1-3 years of experience OR 3-5 years of experience in Health & Safety in Manufacturing required
Automotive Experience preferred
Must complete training in post-employment and individual department-specified training
Technical Skills:
Understanding of automated manufacturing process
Basic computer skills (Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint)
Good understanding of OSHA/EPA ANSI (OSHA 30 preferred)
First Aid/CPR Certification preferred
Basic Chemical and Hazardous waste management knowledge
