Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Substance Abuse Counselor to join our team. As a Substance Abuse Counselor, you will provide counseling and support to individuals struggling with substance abuse issues. Your role will involve conducting assessments, developing treatment plans, and implementing therapeutic interventions to help clients on their path to recovery.

Duties:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of clients' substance abuse history, mental health, and social factors
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on clients' needs and goals
- Provide individual and group counseling sessions to address substance abuse issues
- Utilize evidence-based therapeutic techniques to facilitate behavior change and promote recovery
- Assist clients in developing coping skills and relapse prevention strategies
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to coordinate care and ensure comprehensive treatment
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical documentation and records
- Conduct crisis intervention as needed to ensure the safety and well-being of clients
- Collect data and participate in research activities to contribute to the field of substance abuse treatment
- Perform diagnostic evaluations using standardized assessment tools such as the ICD-10

Qualifications:
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or related field
- Valid certification or license as a Substance Abuse Counselor (e.g., CADC, LCADC)
- Previous experience working in a hospital or clinical setting preferred
- Strong knowledge of substance abuse treatment modalities and evidence-based practices
- Familiarity with crisis management techniques and interventions
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to establish rapport with clients and create a supportive therapeutic environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
