Substance Abuse Center Director (Hosp. Op.) directs the clinical, managerial, and administrative aspects of substance abuse programs. Measures and evaluates the effectiveness and quality of drug/alcohol rehabilitation treatment procedures to achieve standards and objectives. Being a Substance Abuse Center Director (Hosp. Op.) partners with community agencies and programs to ensure continuity in the type and level of patient care. Ensures compliance with all federal, state, and local standards and requirements.     The Certified Substance Abuse Counselor is a counseling professional who provides treatment and support to assist patients in their recovery from addictions, such as alcoholism, drug addiction, eating disorders, or other behavioral problems, assists with modifying problem behaviors; The Certified Substance Abuse Counselor will provide optimal services to a population of youth, ranging from 16 to 24 years in age.

    Responsibilities

    • Conducts individual/group and/or family counseling sessions as scheduled and documents as required;
    • Occasionally co-facilitate assigned group or family sessions;
    • Responsible for initial assessments, as well as follow up assessments, for patients;
    • Prepares individual treatment plan for each assigned patient;
    • Ensures all documentation regarding patient care, interventions, treatment and incidents are completed timely and in a clear, concise manner;
    • May act as a liaison between referral sources and patients;
    • Provides crisis intervention to patients, as needed;
    • Creates aftercare for assigned patients;
    • May act as a liaison with insurance carriers, as requested;
    • Evaluates patient’s needs and determines if referrals to other programs or facilities is needed.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Must possess the required Certification or State License to practice as an Alcohol and Drug Counselor or Substance Abuse Counselor.
    • Minimum of 1 year of direct experience in substance abuse counseling or related field.
    • Successful completion of a criminal background check and central registry check.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport and build therapeutic relationships with clients.
