Switchboard Operator jobs in Minnesota
Switchboard Operator operates a switchboard or telephone console to route incoming calls and place outgoing calls. Answers incoming calls and basic questions, transfers calls to extensions, and responds to emergency situations as necessary. Being a Switchboard Operator monitors the phone system's efficiency and performs routine troubleshooting. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Switchboard Operator typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Switchboard Operator may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Responsible for providing prompt, courteous and effective response to all calls into Park Nicollet Health Services through the switchboard. This includes routing calls to appropriate departments, providing patient information, paging on call physicians, code processing, and related communication services. The incumbent will be expected to comply with all Head, Heart Together competencies as related to switchboard duties.Work Schedule:
6:00am - 2:30pm w rotating weekendsRequired Qualifications:
Minimum 1 year client facing customer service required.Preferred Qualifications:
- Some post-secondary education preferred.
- Call center or Switchboard experience preferred.
- Experience with computers and both word processing and spreadsheet software preferred.
- Ability to type 35 WPM preferred.
