    CAS Human Resources (CAS HR) provides services in the areas of talent acquisition, payroll administration and HR operations to departments within the College of Arts and Sciences. The mission of CAS Human Resources (CAS HR) is to provide consistency through centralized services, offering our expertise in processing a wide variety of business operation transactions and functions, including acting as a liaison to the Business Affairs Office, University Human Resources, and Payroll Administration.     Position Summary

    The Talent Acquisition Specialist position reports directly to the Talent Acquisition Manager in CAS HR and assists the supervisor with the ongoing operations and direction of CAS’s talent acquisition program. The position provides critical and confidential human resources support to all CAS units supported by CAS HR. This position will focus on the coordination of staff, officers of administration, faculty, and student recruitments, researching and analyzing hiring, onboarding, and engagement practices, facilitating meetings, explaining policies and procedures, and assisting in the development of HR programs and services. It will also support position development, job analysis, and classification and compensation, and interpret rules, regulations, and policy in these areas.

    The Talent Acquisition Specialist routinely works with hiring managers and search committees within the units that provide administrative support to our departments and programs. This position provides administrative support to faculty and staff searches for assigned units or employee groups, advises units on best practices in recruitment, leads recruitment briefings and search committee meetings, and liaises frequently with unit personnel to ensure a smooth client - relationship and positive candidate experience. With specific regard to the faculty employee group, this position will also have frequent contact with administrative staff in the eight Academic Support Units (ASUs) to advise, interpret, and support faculty searches and hiring.

    This position requires the incumbent to be able to function highly independently with general supervision and work assignments from the Talent Acquisition Manager.

    Minimum Requirements

    • Two years of experience as an administrative specialist or executive support specialist which included administrative support for a project, program, or operation. Administrative support includes those duties beyond clerical/secretarial such as: interpretation of laws, rules, and regulations; administrative data collection and analysis; and evaluation of projects, processes, and operations; OR
    • An equivalent combination of training and experience.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Work experience in higher education or the public sector.
    • Experience delivering presentations and/or trainings.
    • Experience with recruitment and selection processes.
