What's this job all about? 

The Talent Acquisition Specialist (TAS) is a skilled professional knowledgeable in recruiting and evaluating job candidates.   The talent acquisition specialist is responsible for proactively sourcing, attracting, interviewing, hiring and onboarding employees, all while factoring in the long-term goals of an organization. They also ensure that current employees are satisfied in their positions and promote the company’s brand through recruitment initiatives and events. The Talent Acquisition Specialist is knowledgeable in effective recruiting techniques and adheres to Human Resources best practices.  The Talent Acquisition Specialist must collaborate with others in order to achieve effective recruiting practices.

The talent acquisition specialist is exciting because each day gives opportunities to meet candidates who share your passion for our clients.  In this role you will:

• Attract qualified job seekers to The Arc by posting open positions using The Arc's applicant tracking system, as well as by using online application sites like Indeed and Glassdoor.   
• Continuously explores new recruiting sources, job boards, and forums to assist in growing The Arc’s candidate pool. Contacts passive and active candidates utilizing various digital media and souring channels
• Build applicant sources by researching and contacting community services, colleges, employment agencies, Talent Acquisition Specialists, media, and internet sites; providing organization information, opportunities, and benefits; making presentations; maintaining rapport with applicants, current employees and members of the community.
• Portrays a professional image of a positive promoter of the organization, maintains personal networks, and is involved with professional and/or civic organizations in order to nurture relationships with potential applicants
• Onboards new hires by setting up onboarding meetings, ensuring all required documents are collected from new hires and entering new hire data into the HRIS.
