Job Summary:
The Talent Acquisitions Manager is responsible for the overall talent acquisition function for the Grand Canyon Railway property including sourcing and engagement to ensure appropriate staffing levels, the new hire onboarding, and file retention functions.

Responsibilities
- Understands and supports Xanterra Mission Statement, Core Values and Culture Pillars.
- Works with HR Manager and HR Director to develop and implement effective sourcing and recruitment strategies to attract a diverse pool of qualified candidates.
- Markets Grand Canyon Railway job vacancies to appropriate recruitment sites, maintain property career page and Applicant Tracking System (ATS), applicable social media sites, and other career sites. Works with Grand Canyon Railway and Xanterra Marketing teams to create strong content to be used for recruitment marketing.
- Collaborates with hiring managers and department heads to determine staffing needs. Schedules and plans specific recruiting efforts based on predetermined employment goals.
- Creates, updates, and facilitates Hiring Manager training courses to ensure Hiring Managers are performing interviews and making hiring decisions within legal boundaries.
- Promotes a positive workplace culture, challenging biases, and uses tools such as Predictive Index to ensure departments are hiring for culture fit as well as qualifications.
- Generates job offers, effectively and positively communicates with candidates throughout the offer and onboarding process and manages background and reference checks as needed.
- Manages recruiting budget and monitors investments monthly to ensure budget is being used for optimum benefit of the Company staffing needs. Generates recruitment data reports as necessary to quantify recruiting efforts and progress.
- Screens candidates for open positions and coordinates interviews with respective department hiring managers, may sit in as needed on and/or interviews.
- Coordinates with hospitality schools, universities/colleges and organizations on hiring events and develops strong recruitment relationships.
- Coordinates and attends job/career fairs as a source for generating qualified candidates.
- Assist employees with internal and external transfer requests and procedures.
- Oversees the File Retention Administrator role, and ensures full completion of responsibilities, including compliance with Xanterra’s File and Retention policy, (including auditing for proper completion of I-9 forms and acceptable documents, and E-Verify Compliance, etc.), employee of the month and years of service awards, birthday cards, labor law poster compliance, and other duties.
- Oversees the Human Resources Coordinator role and HR File Admin.
- Ensures new employee onboarding process is efficient accurate and a positive experience for all newly hired, rehired and transferring employees, ensures DOT files are properly maintained, ensures accurate data entry.
- Coaches, mentors and trains existing and newly hired Human Resources Coordinator and File Retention Admin, ensuring proper compliance with HR attendance, dress code, conduct policy, etc.
- Documents and executes corrective action, as needed for direct reports.
- Tracks performance throughout the year and writes and issues annual performance appraisals for direct reports.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
- Previous two years’ Talent Acquisition experience, in the hospitality and tourism industry.
- Advanced interpersonal skills a must.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to convey material in an understandable measurable manner to leadership, applicants and seminar attendees.
- Intermediate to advanced computer skills.
- Possess or able to obtain a valid Arizona Driver’s License; and comply with the Xanterra Park’s & Resorts Company Vehicle Policy.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Recruiting or Human Resource experience with an emphasis on recruiting and employee relations.
- L3, Cloud Suite, and Outlook experience a plus.
- Bi-lingual language skills (English/Spanish) a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is constantly listening, hearing, seeing, sitting, twisting, eye/hand coordination, manual dexterity, handling and wrist motion lifting/carrying 10lbs or less.
- Occasionally standing, walking, reaching outward, reaching above shoulder, climbing, squat/kneeling, carrying, bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, and pulling items weighing up to 50lbs.
- Will be required to sit for long periods of time and occasionally walk, climb stairs and walk on uneven surfaces.
