Technical Trainer jobs in Virginia

Overview:

Our client in Virginia Beach, VA is seeking to hire a Trainer/Instructor. In this role, they are seeking someone with a manufacturing or production background and who has some sort of teaching/training background. You will be assisting new hires and more junior employees within a manufacturing environment. You will be able to help develop and instruct these new employees and make sure employees get acclimated to the environment.

Description:

• Maintain program data and tools to train staff and others.
• Liaise with departments to manage and assign training programs.
• Plan and coordinate proper venues, timing, and modality.
• Make recommendations to the training agenda or curriculum, as necessary.
• Oversee and participate in the development of training materials,
• Maintain attendance logs, incident reports, and other necessary records.
• Lead, mentor, counsel and manage performance of project staff (depending upon project structure).
• Serve as a thought leader, mentor, and coach on continuous improvement tools.
• Provide input on safety, quality, or efficiency risks to the manufacturing process.
• Support other teams with projects as directed.
• Ensure training and other projects comply with applicable regulations and laws.
• Act as a change agent to drive continuous improvement throughout.
• Manage the set-up and start-up training operations on new products and equipment.
• Compile and analyze data to help with budget preparation and training priorities.
• Be responsible for a values-based approach to leadership education and development within the company.

Qualifications:

• Degree preferred, but experience is the most important focus.
• 10 years of experience.
• Within the 10 years of experience.
  • Seeking prior manufacturing/production experience.
    • Seeking prior teaching/mentorship experience.
• Quality experience, environmental experience, and health & safety experience would be helpful. Any ISO exposure would be helpful.
• Technical background preferred.
• Possess the ability to convey complex information in a way that people understand.
