Technical Training Manager leads the design and delivery of technical training programs. Determines training objectives by conducting analysis of overall needs and specific skill or knowledge gaps. Being a Technical Training Manager manages the development of training programs and materials including outlines, text, handouts, hands on exercises, and training evaluations. Establishes processes to monitor results and collect feedback on training instructors to determine effectiveness and identify areas for improvement. Additionally, Technical Training Manager assesses and manages any contractors utilized to deliver specialized training. May manage IT, product, or equipment training depending on the industry and setting. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to an director. The Technical Training Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Technical Training Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     Summary/Objective * Articulates and evolves the product vision and strategy, ensuring alignment with the broader goals of the SaaS company and the evolving needs of the environmental monitoring industry. * Develops product roadmap, communicates the vision to the development team, motivates the team to subscribe to the vision, and sees the vision through to completion. * Describes features, collaborates, and communicates with the delivery team, and accepts or rejects work results. * Creates, maintains, and outlines work in the product backlog; determines which activities will produce the most business value; and prioritizes it based on business value.
    • Understands the market, the customer, the business domain, and the varying needs of different types of users, and works with the user group in order to make sound decisions and determine what features will be in the product release.
    • Regularly collect and integrate customer feedback into the product development process to enhance user satisfaction and engagement.
    • Conduct market research to understand emerging trends in environmental monitoring and integrate insights into product development.
    • Collaborates closely with the development team and customers to ensure there is a clear understanding of what features are needed in the product or application.
    • Oversee the creation of comprehensive product documentation and training materials for both internal teams and end-users.
    • Act as a liaison between technical and non-technical teams, ensuring clear communication and alignment on product goals and deliverables.
    • Ensures management, stakeholders, and sponsors are informed and the vision is aligned with their wishes; communicates the business benefits of the entire product and each individual feature.
    • Define and analyze key performance metrics to continually improve the product and address any areas of concern.
    • Acknowledges and responds to questions from the team, supports and respects the team's creativity, and delivers direction, based on whether the team is developing commercial software, software for internal use, hardware, or some other type of product.
    • Maintains availability to team, showing commitment by doing whatever is necessary to build the best product possible and being actively engaged with their teams.
    • Ensure the product complies with industry standards and regulations relevant to environmental monitoring.
    • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
    Supervisor Responsibilities
    • Supervises, hires, trains, provides work direction, and problem-solving assistance for employees; also oversees the daily operations of other staff
    Required Qualifications
    • 7 years of experience in software development; hands-on experience managing all stages of the product life cycle
    • 3 years of supervisory experience/group leadership
    Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
    • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, both written and verbal
    • Extensive knowledge of product lifecycle
    • Experience with project planning; ability to set and meet deadlines
    • Excellent organizational skills
    • Experience working on large-scale software projects; ability to lead cross-functional team to achieve goals and objectives
    • Proficient in MS Office programs
    • Strong people skills; ability to communicate with associates and customers

    Travel

    Our customer base is spread across the US. This position would be expected to travel as needed to develop industry knowledge and insight by working with customers to understand their needs and problems. The position would also be a key player in tradeshows and customer events we host to engage and learn from our customers.

    *The salary range for this position is $100k - $120k based on experience*
