Job Summary:
Responsible for writing, revising, and submitting for release printed and electronic Instructions For Use (IFUs) for ZOLL’s resuscitation products, including defibrillator monitors, automatic external defibrillators, ventilators, circulation units, and accessories.
Essential Functions:
Researches user tasks, product features, and conceptual information using engineering documentation and hands-on operation of prototype hardware and software.
Writes and revises specific IFUs and develops supporting illustrations that describe how to use ZOLL’s resuscitation products.
Organizes IFU content in clear and concise manner and considers the localization of content when planning IFUs.
Works in cooperation with product development, quality assurance, usability, regulatory affairs, technical service, and marketing organizations to ensure the accuracy and completeness of IFUs.
Ensures that IFUs are reviewed, approved, and released in conformance with ZOLL’s standard operating procedures.
Skills Requirements:
Requires excellent written and spoken communication skills, and the ability to quickly learn the use of new products and technologies.
Required/Preferred Education and Experience:
Familiarity with industry-standard publishing tools is required; familiarity with the current tools that ZOLL’s Technical Publications Department uses is desirable.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant subject, such as English or Communications. Experience as a technical writer, or the completion of a Technical Writing degree or Technical Writing certificate program.
