    Position Summary:
    The Adams State University English, Communication & Media department seeks a part-time Director to lead and

    promote our Writing Studio for the 2022-2023 school year. This is a one-year position in which the successful candidate

    will oversee the Adams State Writing Studio.

    Specific Job Duties (Essential Functions and Responsibilities):

    Train and supervise student work-study writing studio tutors.

    Tutor students both in person and online,

    Determine the Writing Studio’s hours (Monday-Friday) and maintain a presence during those hours.

    Track statistical data, including number of visits, etc.

    Promote the Writing Studio to increase its usage.

    Qualifications:
    B.A. or B.S. required.

    Director must be able to maintain a physical presence on campus during working hours.

    Previous experience successfully tutoring student writing and supervision experience is preferred. *Experience

    using online software to tutor students, and/or experience tutoring students online is also preferred.

    Successful candidates must be able to work independently with little or no supervision, and must be able to

    handle multiple, disparate, tasks.

    Must be able to maintain composure and professionalism in a high-stress environment.

    • Ability to treat others with respect, civility, and courtesy and to work honestly, effectively,
    and collegiality with employees, students, and the community. This includes the ability to

    use appropriate conflict management skills to effectively manage any disagreement that

    might arise or to bring the disagreement to management for assistance in productive

    resolution when the situation requires.

    • Ability to consider alternative and diverse perspectives, to communicate effectively both
    orally and in writing, to remain poised under all circumstances, and to interact effectively

    with people in a positive manner that engenders confidence and trust.

    Conditions of Employment:
    The position is a 19 FTE, hours per week, __9___month exempt at-will administrative position

    without benefits.

    Salary and Benefits:
    The salary for this position is $17/hr. This position does not include benefits.
