Telecommunications Engineering Technician assists telecommunication engineers in the design and analysis of telecommunication networks. Creates plans and drawings detailing the layout of routers, circuits, cables, switches, or other telecommunications equipment. Being a Telecommunications Engineering Technician ensures network connectivity for end-users. May evaluate existing networks and recommend design changes to improve performance. Additionally, Telecommunications Engineering Technician requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Telecommunications Engineering Technician may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Position’s Contributions to Work Group: This role will directly support operations and the assembly area
Typical Day: Position will be located onsite at the Waco TX assembly plant and will sit in the office near the dock with the Manufacturing engineer. Daily Duties: CI Cards, Standard work Updates (Tool changes, Images, Engineering changes, process changes, etc) Kitting instructions, Standard work Audits, Time studies, Rack labeling and organization. Assist with new product builds and clean up. Manages Tools and supplies in tool crib, this includes inventory, general cleanliness, and organization. SFMEA/PFMEA, Tooling/fixturing -click wrenches, back up tooling, small CI type fixturing, Attends meetings, note taking, support IRA counts, 5S support. Preference of 6 AM to 4 PM onsite Monday through Thursday, 4 - 10 hour shifts. Timing is Flexible. Occasional OT on Fridays as needed.
Education Requirements: Highschool Diploma Minimum Some Engineering schooling Required.
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in the field is preferred.
2-4 years of relevant experience
Technical Skills: Print reading, Teamcenter, Autocad 2D/3D, 3D Modeling/spatial reasoning. Technical Writing skills (Work instruction creation) Geneo, General tooling knowledge, Excel (Formulas, graphs, pivot tables, X lookups) SAP Exposure. Nice to have Assembly knowledge.
