Located in the scenic Puget Sound area with Mount Rainier in the distance, Tacoma is the third largest city in Washington State with a thriving and diverse community of over 200,000 residents. Tacoma Community College (TCC) was built on the ancestral territory of Coast Salish peoples, specifically the Puyallup and Squaxin Island Tribes. The 1854 Medicine Creek Treaty forcibly removed them to Reservations to make way for colonizers; we recognize the privilege of utilizing this land has come at great cost. We honor the resilience of the Puyallup and Squaxin Island people, who still live here, defend their rights, and contribute greatly to the well-being of our community. Tacoma Community College is a public Associate- and Bachelor's-granting institution that serves a student-body of approximately 12,000 students. • Prepare and teach fully online baccalaureate level courses in the field of Community Health
• Work with program faculty and staff on curriculum and program development incorporating current educational theories and research and integrating new and innovative approaches to instruction
• Develop and utilize a variety of instructional strategies appropriate to the needs of learners in an online environment
• Work with an advisory committee of community partners to keep curriculum relevant to local industry
• Evaluate student progress and provide clear, timely feedback using program criteria and expectations
• Maintain regular office hours to improve student retention and success
• Work with local employers and students to facilitate internships
• Support division/department goals
• Participate actively in departmental responsibilities to include curriculum review, program development, and faculty meetings
• Participate in the college's professional development and Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion events
• Perform related duties an assigned

• Master's degree in Public Health, Community Health, Social Work, Nursing, Health Administration, Human Services, or related field OR equivalent work experience
• Three years relevant work experience and/or relevant current teaching experience that particularly qualify the candidate to provide instruction in community health.
• Intermediate level computer and technology skills.
• Ability to inspire, motivate, teach and mentor students in the profession of community health.

• Doctoral degree in Public Health, Community Health, Social Work, Nursing, Human Services, or related field
• Experience teaching at a secondary or post-secondary level
• Experience in using online learning management systems (Blackboard, Canvas, etc.)
• Experience in curriculum development at a baccalaureate level
• Experience developing community contacts
• Experience teaching or doing research in Native/Indigenous communities
• Experience working in diverse populations

• Successful completion of a criminal history background check prior to employment.

• Competence with strong commitment to the profession of community health.
• Knowledge and experience in a wide variety of health care settings and facilities.
• A high level of technology and application skills in the teaching and/or health care field.
• Commitment to equity, diversity, inclusion, cultural awareness, and sensitivity in the workplace.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with students, faculty, staff and external community partners in both online and face to face environments.
• Success in establishing and maintaining positive working relationships within a diverse environment.
• Experience with dynamic, interactive delivery methods of teaching students with widely varying levels of proficiency and with diverse backgrounds, abilities, and learning styles.
• Ethical decision-making ability and sound professional judgment.
