The Opportunity:
Explorations are 2-week experiential programs for high school students designed to live at the intersection of academics and industry. Our Explorations allow young people from around the world the opportunity to explore majors, careers, the state of research, and the future of the field, through hands-on learning and site visits.
- As an Operations Activities Coordinator, you will be instrumental in the execution of our academic program.
- This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced environment and are passionate about creating engaging and well-organized educational experiences
- Your primary focus will be the planning and execution of afternoon and evening activities, as well as trips and other programming.
- You will be hands-on in setting up spaces, coordinating logistics, and managing the diverse needs of each day’s schedule.
- While your main responsibilities will not include residential supervision, it may occasionally be necessary for you to step into a supportive role in the dorms.
- Your willingness to tackle a wide range of tasks are vital to crafting a joyful, enriching, and safe student experience.
Operations Activities Coordinator Responsibilities:
- Lead and support afternoon and evening recreational activities
- Chaperone students on weekend and evening trips throughout the Bay Area
- Coordinate trip and event logistics, and work both individually and as a team to complete other tasks that are necessary for the smooth functioning of the program
- Provide support, as needed, on the residential halls
- Serve as support staff in our office, communicating with families, representatives from our host institution, and industry and academic partners
Applicant Requirements:
- 1 years of post high school experience by the summer
- Availability to live and work on campus for the duration of the program
- CPR/First Aid certification (or a willingness to become certified)
- If certification is necessary, EXPLO will pay for the cost of the course.
Dates, Compensation, and Training:
- Dates (in-person): June 27 - July 27, 2024, along with some remote training sessions in the spring; on-campus, in-person training will take place on Friday, June 28 and Saturday, June 29.
- Compensation: $3,600; room and board are provided for the duration of the program.
