Top Litigation Executive oversees all litigation related to an organization and ensures maximum protection of the organization's legal rights. Acts as a liaison between outside attorneys and in-house staff. Being a Top Litigation Executive directs cases through litigation cycle, reviews new files for coverage and liability issues, and develops a cost effective defense strategy. Consults with senior management to resolve issues and decide settlements. Additionally, Top Litigation Executive requires a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school. Requires admittance to a state bar. Typically reports to top management. The Top Litigation Executive manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be a Top Litigation Executive typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.     Duties and Responsibilities
    Administratively manage all phases of a litigation case including motion practice, discovery, arbitration trial and appellate procedures;
    Organize and manage electronic and hard copy document collections;
    Manage and manipulate data in litigation support software offerings;
    Legal and factual cite checking
    Execute all docket and court filing activities
    Assist with witness preparation;
    Trial preparation and attendance;
    Supervise project assistants and temporary staff on workflow and assignments;
    Execute all activities with a thorough understanding of rules of procedure for various federal and state jurisdictions;
    Prioritize and manage multiple assignments with tight deadlines.
    Qualifications

    Education and/or Experience:

    Required:

    BA/BS or work equivalent
    Three plus years of litigation and trial experience at a law firm.
    Proficient at Microsoft Office applications and litigation support software.
    Preferred:

    Paralegal Certificate from an ABA accredited program.
    Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with clients, partners, associates, paralegals and all staff members.
    Proficiency with Trial Director.
    Thorough understanding of court rules and filing requirements.
    Spanish language proficiency is preferred.
