Responsibilities
- Originate and close mortgage loans in compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements
- Evaluate loan applications and documentation to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Provide exceptional customer service throughout the loan process
- Analyze applicants' financial status, credit, and property evaluations to determine feasibility of granting loans
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends, regulations, and changes in the mortgage market
- Collaborate with underwriters, processors, and other team members to expedite the loan approval process
- Maintain confidentiality of customer information and adhere to data protection regulations
- Meet sales targets and contribute to the overall success of the mortgage department
- Assist in training and mentoring junior loan officers
- Handle any escalated customer concerns or issues in a professional manner
Qualifications
- Strong background in loan processing and TILA regulations
- Experience as a loan officer with knowledge of FNMA, underwriting, loan origination, and mortgage servicing
- Familiarity with financial services, fair housing regulations, and credit analysis
- Proficiency in contracts, banking procedures, basic math, and escrow
- Ability to perform 10 key typing accurately
- Solid understanding of math concepts
- Certification or successful completion of the NMLS Safe Test
