The City is seeking a visionary, innovative, and collaborative leader to serve as the Director of Economic Development to plan, direct, manage, and oversee the operations and activities of the Economic Development department. The incumbent will collaborate with internal and external officials, organizations, business leaders, development professionals, and the public to achieve the city’s goals and objectives.
The City of Corpus Christi offers a generous, market competitive salary and benefits program that includes a base salary in the $141,634 to $190,000 range. The starting salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Additionally, the benefits package includes 88 vacation hours per year, 40 hours personal leave per year, 96 hours of sick leave per year, voluntary 457b deferred compensation plan, 10 holidays, Flexible Spending Account or Health Savings Account options, City Employee Health & Wellness Clinic, City Employee Fitness Center, Learning & Development Academy, Tuition Reimbursement and Employee Recognition Programs. Qualified applicants should possess a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in business administration, marketing, economics, public administration or a closely related field, and a minimum of ten (10) years of professional experience in community or economic development. Preferred candidates will have a master’s degree and Certified Economic Developer (CeCD), Professional Community and Economic Developer (PCED), Small Business Development in Emerging Economies certification, or Economic Development Finance Professional certification.
