    Reports to:                 Regional Warehouse Manager 

    Department:               Operations 

    Location:                    Onsite: Tehachapi, CA       

    Location Status:        Work will be primarily performed onsite in our office. Occasional travel to and work from other Race offices

                                       within (Norther and Southern) California may be required.

    Summary:

    The Warehouse Lead is responsible for accurately and promptly picking, packing, and shipping supplies and materials to both internal and external customers. They also handle the safe and efficient transportation, sorting, and stocking of materials.

     

    Qualifications and Experience:


    • Eligibility for US Employment without sponsorship
    • Minimum of 18 years of age
    • Forklift certified
    • One to two years related experience working in a warehouse or similar environment can be helpful in understanding the duties and responsibilities of a warehouse lead
    • Familiarity with shipping practices and handling methods 
    • Proficiency in computer operations, including inventory management systems and Microsoft Office applications, alongside familiarity with typical office equipment, can significantly aid in fulfilling the responsibilities of a warehouse lead
    • Professional appearance and demeanor
    • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions
    • Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English as the primary language used in the workplace
    • Spanish bilingual skills are desirable

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


    Materials Handling and Inventory Management:

    • Transports incoming and outgoing materials using appropriate tools/vehicles
    • Performs quality inspections on materials and products
    • Sorts and stores materials according to inventory procedures
    • Conducts physical inventory counts and replenishes stock
    • Shipping and Receiving:
    • Picks, packs, and ships materials and products
    • Processes all packages for shipping and returned merchandise

    Warehouse Operations:

    • Maintains a safe and clean working environment
    • Participates in quality improvement efforts
    • Acts as the first point of contact for warehouse staff
    • Maintains knowledge of all shipping, receiving, and packing room activities
    • Helps warehouse staff maintain department standards for productivity, reliability, and accuracy

    Leadership and Supervision:

    • Leads the crew by example, emphasizing safety, positive attitude, and teamwork
    • Assists the warehouse supervisor with policy implementation and ensures compliance
    • Helps resolve warehouse-related issues

    Administrative Tasks:

    • Performs required administrative tasks, including reports and correspondence
    • Assists with inventory control processes
    • Maintains a working knowledge of operating systems in the work area

    Sanitation and Safety:

    • Assists with sanitation activities in the warehouse
    • Follows safety programs and completes required safety training

    Other duties as necessary may include but are not limited to:

    • Successfully complete assigned training and examinations, as well as participate in ongoing performance and development reviews, and goal setting
    • Be available to participate in internal or external meetings, special functions, and professional development opportunities
    • Cross-train and share knowledge with other team members
    • Support routine tasks
    • Performs other related duties as assigned by management

    All new employees will participate in the mandatory 'Speedway to Success' (Speedway) orientation at one our offices located in either Tehachapi, CA, Yuba City, CA, or South San Francisco, CA. The duration of the Speedway program spans from 1-3 weeks, depending on the position. During Speedway the schedule will vary: 8-hour days are planned, but shorter days may occur depending on the group’s pace. Applicants further than 50 miles from these training locations will be provided with necessary travel accommodations as part of the onboarding process. Applicants 50 miles or less from these locations will be considered regular commute. For those working remotely, virtual attendance will depend on position requirements. Further details will be provided to you during the interview process, and before your start date.
