Traffic Clerk provides administrative and clerical support to the traffic operations function of an organization. Responsible for all aspects of routing, shipping, logging, and tracking of inbound and outbound orders. Being a Traffic Clerk contacts transporters for freight pick-up and ensures that cargo is routed appropriately. Communicates changes to routing and timelines. Additionally, Traffic Clerk prepares and processes bills of lading (BOL) and other shipping documentation. Requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Traffic Clerk works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. The Traffic division processes traffic citations issued by every law enforcement agency in Manatee County. Traffic citations are non-criminal, payable offenses that generally do not require a court appearance. The Clerk I/Traffic position is a full-time, non-supervisory position reporting to the Supervisor of Financial Recovery & Traffic.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
High School diploma or GED One year of recent and relevant experience that demonstrates the ability to apply acute attention to detail in maintenance of detailed data, preferably in an automated systems environmentBasic mathematical aptitude, as well as alpha and numeric filing skills are requiredComputer literacy which includes, but is not limited to, proficiency in Microsoft Windows suiteOnce qualified, deputization may be required to perform the assigned functions
