    POSITION PURPOSE

    The Products and Platforms Manager leads the strategy, implementation, and maintenance of all agency-owned products, websites, and platforms. Under the direction of the Integrated Marketing Director, this position leads product and project teams through discovery, execution, and closure and manages diverse stakeholder expectations and cross-functional teams, which may involve other state/local agencies, destination marketing/management agencies, private sector businesses, or special interest groups.  

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/MAJOR DUTIES

    Platform Strategy, Development & Maintenance

    • Lead and oversee the strategy, development, implementation, and ongoing maintenance of agency platforms and systems, including oversight and management of all project-related communications for TravelOregon.com, Industry.TravelOregon.com, Visitor Lifecycle Management, and the Oregon Travel Information System
    • Prepare and/or give presentations, reports, papers, memos, letters, and other documents, for consideration of the Oregon Tourism Commission and more.
    • Conduct high-level analysis and/or review analysis of a variety of inputs, including advertising analytics, marketing research, tourism trends, consumer behaviors and past performance to enhance digital platforms to best deliver on strategic objectives, projects and opportunities.
    • Develop and implement project plans, project teams, schedules and budgets to accomplish platform strategies with the input of stakeholders and agency partners.
    • Source and manage vendor contracts and budgets with oversight from the Director.
    • Drive product marketing, acquisition, and support, as well as product positioning, messaging, new product launches, product training, and customer communication. Build and maintain relationships with partners using the product.
    • Prepare product and project budgets, develop methods for tracking, and prepare/analyze reports.

    Visitor Lifecycle and Email Program

    • Oversee lifecycle and transactional email communication in collaboration with the Content and Community Manager, Platform Analyst and other Brand Stewardship team stakeholders.
    • Develop strategy to optimize email subscription growth and engagement.
    • Collaborate with the Platform Analyst to monitor platform KPI’s to confirm programs meet internal goals and industry standards; report on outcomes and make adjustments as needed.
    • Perform all responsibilities in alignment with Travel Oregon’s stewardship lenses, community agreements, and commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree with a marketing, advertising, or business focus -OR- any combination of education/coursework/training and work experience necessary to meet position requirements.
    • Four (4) years of progressively responsible roles in marketing with experience with brand marketing and developing marketing plans. Experience must include leading and managing discrete, interactive projects and programs that expand website functionality and enhance digital presence from initiation and planning through closure and evaluation.
    • Two (2) years of experience managing a comprehensive email marketing program and utilizing a marketing automation platform, maintaining compliance with CASL, GDPR, CCPA, etc.
    • High proficiency in the use of MS Office Suite including familiarity with presentation development using PowerPoint, in the use of project management and collaboration tools such as Basecamp, Google Docs, Dropbox and others, and in software used for data analysis, manipulation and visualization, such as Tableau, Google Data Studio, Google Analytics.
    • Experience and proficiency in the use of a marketing automation platform, such as Marketo.
    • Knowledge or understanding of marketing platforms and strategies, including technical understanding of interactive projects and the operations of a website.

    About Our Work Environment:

    This position is designated as hybrid. Business needs may require the employee to come into a designated workplace on a periodic basis. Our employees working in roles designated as hybrid or remote must reside in Oregon. Overnight travel, up to 20% of work time, is required in this position.

    Compensation & Benefits:

    Starting Salary Range: $85,450-$102,550

    • Accrual of 15 days paid vacation plus 3 days personal business leave and 12 days paid
    • Sick leave; 11 paid holidays, 3 days paid volunteer leave, and available paid bereavement leave
    • 100% of health care premiums for core benefits (medical/dental/vision) for employee and family are paid by Travel Oregon
    • Optional health care and dependent care flexible spending accounts (FSAs).
    • After six full months of employment, participation in the Public Employees Retirement System (PERS), including generous Travel Oregon contributions with no employee match required; optional participation in a 403(b) account (Oregon Savings Growth Plan) is also available.
