    Job Summary
    Provide professional knowledge, advice, and counseling regarding the institutional student graduation process. Responsible for supervision and counseling and for all aspects of routine and non-routine graduation policy and procedure requirements. The position directly contributes to the achievement of enrollment goals. Fosters a positive working environment that honors the UTA Principles of Community and leads to healthy levels of productivity and contributes to UTA being increasingly known as a great place to work.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities
    • Processes applications for graduation and is accountable for validation that degree and certificate requirements are fulfilled for students.
    • Responsible for specific populations (graduate student conferrals, for example); accountability will be for all students assigned to this graduation counselor.
    • Utilizes computerized degree audit system and updates student records.
    • Counsels’ students regarding graduation requirements, deficiencies in grade points and a variety of other issues related to conformability.
    • Provides guidance to faculty/staff on graduate policy and processes.
    • Supervises student workers in maintaining workflow progress and quality.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Required Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree with five (5) years of experience counseling students in academic and scholastic matters with a broad knowledge of institutional graduation requirements or a combination of related education, experience, and training may be considered.

    Preferred Qualifications
    • Experience in higher education environment.
    • Experience in PeopleSoft/Campus Community.
    • Experience in project planning.

    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
    • Knowledge of personal computer and standard office equipment.
    • Proficiency in all phases of work performed.

    • Specific job requirements or physical location of positions allocated to this classification render the position security sensitive and thereby subject to the provisions of Section 51.215 Texas Education Code.
