The Utility Meter Installer requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Tests, adjusts, and repairs electrical meters. Being an Utility Meter Installer is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. May be required to be certified in an area of specialty with 2-4 years of experience. In addition, Utility Meter Installer relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. RMR Services, a local utility contractor, is currently looking for utility meter readers/outside gas meter inspectors for the Twin Cities metropolitan area and greater Minnesota. Technicians walk from house to house visually inspecting the utility meters located on the outside of houses and businesses. Meter readings and abnormal operating conditions are recorded using handheld computers or tablets.
We are looking for individuals who enjoy being outdoors; are self motivated; can work independently; have good map reading skills; possess good organizational skills, and can walk for long distances, over uneven terrain, in all weather conditions. Meter inspectors will cover 100 and 250 meters in an 8 hour day.
