We are a small animal veterinary hospital in Ocean Isle Beach, North Carolina and are seeking friendly and dedicated Veterinary Technicians and Veterinary Assistants to join our hospital team.

Our hospital is a high quality, full service practice that sees a large volume of patients throughout the day. These positions play an integral role in providing excellent care to our patients as well as providing outstanding customer service to our clients.

Veterinary Technician DUTIES:

-Client communication- record data on case history, provide basic education on animal care, nutrition, and medical conditions.

-Maintaining medical records and billing information. Scheduling appointments, greeting customers, preparing invoices, answering phones, making follow up calls and referrals. Experience with Cornerstone is a plus!

-Preparing and labeling medications and prescriptions.

-Blood, fecal, and urine collection

-Lab work: including but not limited to; fecal tests, urinalysis, in house blood-work, cytology preparation and reading.

-Radiography

-Prepare patients for surgery, calculating medication doses, administer intravenous and subcutaneous injections prior to, during and post procedure. Assist, monitor and record data for surgical procedure.

-Restrain and stabilize animals during exam and treatment.

-Administer medications, vaccinations, and perform routine procedures.

-Instruct clients how to administer medications and apply care at home.

Veterinary Technician QUALIFICATIONS

-Prior veterinary experience, or certificate of completion from a NAVTA approved veterinary program given priority.

-High school diploma or equivalent.

Operational hours are Monday - Friday 8am to 5:30pm.

Rotating weekend shifts required for hospitalized patients (for approved technician staff only)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
