Waste Water Treatment Technician jobs in Georgia
Waste Water Treatment Technician ensures that pumps, conveyors, blowers, chlorinators, vacuum equipment and other waste water treatment equipment are functioning properly. Monitors equipment for potential failures and may make minor repairs or adjustments as needed. Being a Waste Water Treatment Technician collects water samples for chemical analysis. May be required to complete an apprenticeship and/or formal training in area of specialty. Additionally, Waste Water Treatment Technician typically requires a high school diploma or equivalent. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Waste Water Treatment Technician works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. - Utilize technical knowledge of construction inspection, construction field management, QA / QC and report documentation, on various construction and/or reconstruction projects for municipal water and wastewater treatment projects
- Maintains quality assurance requirements and approaches and monitors code compliance issues.
- Reviews submittals and other construction documents and recommends technical solutions.
- Prepares test results documentation to relay job progress and describe unusual job site conditions.
- Learns job-related material through on-the-job training and in a classroom setting regarding field and lab sampling and testing procedures.
Required Skills/Abilities:- Must have a valid driver’s license and be insurable.
- Attention to detail and documentation.
- Ability to read, understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients, employees and the public.
- Ability to interact with contractors/construction personnel to assure work activities meet required quality.
- Must be well organized and detail oriented.
Education and Experience:- High School Diploma
- GSWCC Level 1B Soil and Erosion Certificate
- GWWI Water Distribution System Operator License
- NASSCO Certified (PACP, MACP and LACP)
Physical Requirements:- Frequently required to stand up to eight hours or more at a time
- Frequently works in outside weather conditions
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times.
