ASSISTANT FIELD OPERATIONS MANAGER (ASSISTANT PROGRAM ADMINISTRATOR) (EM-07) [1 vacancy]

  • Assists in managing or directing a major organizational division of a City department; assists in carrying out the objectives and goals of the department through subordinate managers and supervisors; and performs other related duties as required.

    Current vacancy:
    The current vacancy is with the Honolulu Board of Water Supply. This position serves as the assistant to the Program Administrator of the Field Operations Division and assists in the executive direction of the division. Oversees the day-to-day operations of the division's five base yards in the installation, maintenance, and repair of pipelines and appurtenances of the department's water distribution system; 24-hour emergency response and trouble call program; and the maintenance of the department's facilities and grounds.

    Special Work Requirements: Position classified as a Disaster Response Worker and is required to staff the Departmental Operations Center (DOC) in times of emergency. Works in adverse weather conditions and additional hours as necessary to oversee and coordinate emergency repairs to restore water service as quickly and safely as possible.

    EDUCATION REQUIREMENT:
    Equivalent to graduation from a regionally-accredited college or university  with a bachelor's degree in engineering.

In order to receive credit for the education, a foreign credential evaluation (FCE) must be provided. We also reserve the right to request further information about your academic program, evidence of comparability, or an original transcript.

    EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT:
    Three (3) years administrative experience which included responsibility for a major program in a large organization or agency in the design, construction, operations or maintenance of utilities or similar operations.
