Workers Compensation Administrator II administers the workers' compensation program for an organization. Implements a consistent process for recording, investigating, and reporting workers' compensation claims complying with laws and regulations. Being a Workers Compensation Administrator II prepares and submits required reporting and documentation to OSHA, state and local agencies, and other entities. Monitors all claims and liaises with the employees, managers, insurance representatives, union representatives, medical staff, and attorneys involved with a case. Additionally, Workers Compensation Administrator II communicates case status details and necessary information to involved parties, including notifications of hearings, outcomes, return to work, or restrictions. Performs periodic reviews of overall cases to identify trends. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all regulations and laws for reporting workers' compensation. May coordinate or assist with safety programs focused on injury prevention or facilitate accommodations for workers. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Workers Compensation Administrator II occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     College and Area Information:
    Eastern Arizona College’s District Offices are located in Thatcher, Arizona, a beautiful rural area with easy access to arid
    as well as mountainous recreation. The College is located approximately 125 miles northeast of Tucson and 165 miles
    southeast of Phoenix. EAC is a comprehensive community college offering five associate degrees across nearly 50
    programs of study. Eastern Arizona College is the oldest member of the Arizona Community College system and is fully
    accredited by The Higher Learning Commission.

    Position Summary and Organizational Relationship:
    The Maintenance Worker position will perform a variety of tasks to ensure that a particular area of the campus grounds
    and facilities are continually maintained to a high standard, to ensure the comfort and safety of students, staff, and
    visitors. This is an important role that requires a team player and a safety mindset. The position reports to the
    Maintenance Supervisor(s), taking daily direction and training from the Maintenance Carpenters. These are part-time
    positions generally consisting of no more than 19.5 hours per week as scheduled by the supervisor.

    Required Qualifications:
    Required qualifications to effectively perform job. An equivalent combination of education, training, and experience will be
    considered.

    • High school diploma or GED equivalent
    • Must maintain a valid, current driver's license and able to safely operate pick-up trucks or other motorized
    vehicles.
    • Must be at least 18 years of age or older.
    • Willing and able to work a non-traditional schedule and respond to emergencies at any time.


    Essential Functions:

    • Change light bulbs and HVAC air filters.
    • Assist with framing, drywall, flooring, and plumbing assignments.
    • Assist with shipping and receiving and deliver freight on campus.
    • Assist with electrical, lighting and HVAC installations, service, and repairs.
    • Assist with setting forms, pouring concrete, and finishing surfaces.
    • Dig ditches or trenches and other similar types of duties.
    • Work on grounds as needed doing mowing, edging, trimming, pruning, and watering.
    • Perform other duties as assigned.


    Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
    May be representative, but not all-inclusive, of those knowledge, skills, and abilities commonly associated with the job.

    • Familiar with the care and maintenance required for turf, shrubs, trees, and ornamentals.
    • Ability to use and maintain commonly used groundskeeping equipment and carpentry tools.
    • Good communication skills.
    • Ability to work well both independently and as part of a team.
    • Strong work ethic and the ability to work both independently and/or with supervision to achieve desired results.
    • Ability to safely lift and carry objects of various sizes and weights.
    • Ability to safely work from ladders, scissor lifts, roofs, and other heights.
    • Ability to safely operate a lawn mower, hedge trimmer and other similar machines, including some familiarity with
    tractor operation.
    • Ability to work outdoors in all kinds of weather.
    • Must be safety minded and a team player.

    • Regularly required to reach and grasp items, and to stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb.
    • Regularly required to lift or move items of over 50 pounds.
    • Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.


    Working Environment:
    Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.

    • Generally, works in outdoor conditions, and will be exposed to extreme temperatures and inclement weather
    conditions.
    • Exposed to loud noise levels of lawnmowing and other equipment.
    • Exposed to dust, oils, chemicals, and fumes, and may occasionally be required to wear a respirator.
    • Occasionally exposed to hazardous driving conditions, vibration, moving mechanical parts, and the risk of electric
    shock.
    • May occasionally work in a confined space or in a high, dangerous place.

    May occasionally be exposed to bodily fluids and potentially hazardous chemicals or agents.
