Workers Compensation Administrator II administers the workers' compensation program for an organization. Implements a consistent process for recording, investigating, and reporting workers' compensation claims complying with laws and regulations. Being a Workers Compensation Administrator II prepares and submits required reporting and documentation to OSHA, state and local agencies, and other entities. Monitors all claims and liaises with the employees, managers, insurance representatives, union representatives, medical staff, and attorneys involved with a case. Additionally, Workers Compensation Administrator II communicates case status details and necessary information to involved parties, including notifications of hearings, outcomes, return to work, or restrictions. Performs periodic reviews of overall cases to identify trends. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all regulations and laws for reporting workers' compensation. May coordinate or assist with safety programs focused on injury prevention or facilitate accommodations for workers. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Workers Compensation Administrator II occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     Essential Duties and Responsibilities

    • Review worker’s compensation accounts, ensuring correct Registration of patients.
    • Review worker’s compensation accounts, ensuring accuracy of employer information.
    • Request set-up or updates to employer information when necessary.
    • Ensure correct billing address on all worker’s compensation claims.
    • Review worker’s compensation accounts, ensuring that all necessary documentation is present for billing, e.g. First Report of Injury, work comp claim number.
    • Generate, edit and mail all Worker’s Compensation claims, ensuring correctness of invoice to the correct payor.
    • Assist Customer Service/Employers/Third Party Administrators with questions concerning Worker’s Compensation accounts/claims.
    • Assist Payment Posting with correct posting of payments when necessary.
    • Assist Clinics when questions arise concerning Worker’s Compensation visits.
    • Contact Employer/Payor on outstanding A.R. balances when not paid.
    • Ensure that month end goals are met in a timely manner.
    • Observe safety and security procedures; promote a safe and pleasant work environment.

    Other Duties and Responsibilities

    • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
    • Regular predictable attendance is essential.
    • Assist in handling overflow customer service calls by providing courteous and accurate resolution of customer questions and concerns.

    Qualifications

    High school graduate or equivalent. Proven ability to work in a team environment. Articulate communication skills and excellent customer service skills. Computer knowledge, e.g., Microsoft Office. Accuracy and detail orientation with high level of productivity. Familiarity with ICD-9, and CPT coding, as well as experience reviewing and understanding insurance EOBs is preferred.
