Workers Compensation Administrator II administers the workers' compensation program for an organization. Implements a consistent process for recording, investigating, and reporting workers' compensation claims complying with laws and regulations. Being a Workers Compensation Administrator II prepares and submits required reporting and documentation to OSHA, state and local agencies, and other entities. Monitors all claims and liaises with the employees, managers, insurance representatives, union representatives, medical staff, and attorneys involved with a case. Additionally, Workers Compensation Administrator II communicates case status details and necessary information to involved parties, including notifications of hearings, outcomes, return to work, or restrictions. Performs periodic reviews of overall cases to identify trends. Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all regulations and laws for reporting workers' compensation. May coordinate or assist with safety programs focused on injury prevention or facilitate accommodations for workers. May require a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Workers Compensation Administrator II occasionally directed in several aspects of the work. Gaining exposure to some of the complex tasks within the job function.     The Nursing Home Administrator is responsible for the day to day coordination and oversight of the Center in accordance with current federal, state and local standards, guidelines, and regulations that govern long term care facilities to assure that the highest degree of quality care can be provided to the patients and residents at all times. Job duties include but are not limited to:

    1. Maintain current written policies and procedures that govern the operations of the facility.
    2. Assist department directors in the development and implementation of performance evaluations.
    3. Interpret the Center's policies and procedures to employees, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies, etc. as necessary.
    4. Ensure that all employees, residents, visitors, and the general public follow established policies and procedures.
    5. Assume the administrative authority, responsibility and accountability of directing the services and programs at the facility.
    6. Represent the facility in dealing with outside agencies, including governmental agencies and third party payers, or provide an authorized representative of the facility when unable to attend such meetings.
    7. Schedule, assist, and/or participates in all meetings, including; Quality Improvement Committee meetings.
    8. Utilization Review meetings, Infection Control Meetings, Risk Management Meetings, etc.
    9. Make routine inspections of the facility to assure that established policies and procedures are being implemented and followed.
    10. Participate in facility surveys/inspections made by authorized government agencies.
    11. Assist with the review and ensure proper submission of a plan of correction for deficiencies noted during survey inspections and provide a written copy of such plan to the appropriate governing agency and/or corporate staff for review.
    12. Maintain adequate communication with residents, patients and their families.
    13. Delegate a responsible staff member to act on your behalf when absent from the facility.
    14. Assists in the recruitment and selection of qualified department directors, supervisors, consultants and other auxiliary personnel.
    15. Consult with department directors concerning the operation of their departments to assist in eliminating/correcting problem areas, and/or improvement of services.
    16. Assist in the development, implementation and control of annual budgets and revenue/expense controls.
    17. Review and interpret monthly financial statements with departmental staff and implement necessary controls to ensure compliance with budgetary parameters.
    18. Counsel/discipline personnel fairly and without regard to race, color, creed, national origin, age, sex, religion handicap, or marital status, when necessary and ensure proper documentation in accordance with the Center's policies and procedures.
    19. Maintain an excellent working relationship with the medical profession and other health related facilities and organizations through formal working and transfer agreements.
    20. Ensure proper orientation and training/re-training of all staff.
    21. Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth, personal interest, and positive emphasis, as well as a calm environment throughout the Center.
    22. Ensure that the building and grounds are maintained in good repair.
    23. Ensure completion of and review all accident/incident reports while ensuring an effective accident prevention program for all residents, patients, employees, volunteers and visitors.
    24. Secure authorization to purchase major equipment, supplies or services in accordance with established purchasing policies and procedures.
    25. Assist in the establishment and maintenance of an adequate accounting system to ensure optimal operating cost and revenue for the Center.
    26. Ensure that adequate financial records and cost report information are submitted to the proper authorities to ensure all thorough and timely reporting requirements.
    27. Ensure that the resident's rights to fair and equitable treatment, self-determination, individuality, privacy, property and civil rights, including the right to wage complaints, are well established and maintained at all times, in accordance with the Centers policies and procedures.
    28. Review resident complaints and grievances and make written reports of action taken in coordination with the Centers policies and procedures.
    29. Ensure that all residents receive care in a manner and in an environment that maintains or enhances their quality of life without abridging the safety and rights of other residents.
    30. Monitors resident and patient call bell, to ensure adequate response times in accordance with the Center's goals and objectives.
    31. Monitors overall daily census and census mix to ensure budgetary compliance and operating efficiency.
    32. Monitors and/or completes and/or ensures completion of daily reports, not limited to; Census, Length of Stay, Admission/Discharges, CQI, DSSI, Press Ganey, Staff Turn Over, Payroll Analysis, Daily staffing/labor report, EBITDARM, Pharmacy Exclusion, Workers Compensation Lost Run, Payroll Analysis, Accounts Receivable/payable, ADP/Smartlinx, Marketing

    Position Requirements:

    • Bachelor's Degree in Public Health Administration, Business Administration or a health related field
    • Must have a minimum of five years' experience in a supervisory capacity in a hospital or long term care facility.
    • Must possess a current, unencumbered Nursing Home Administrator's license or meet the reciprocity licensure requirements in the employed State.
    • Must possess the ability to make independent decisions.
    • Must possess the ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members, visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
    • Must be knowledgeable of reimbursement regulations and nursing policies and procedures, as well as laws, regulations, and guidelines pertaining to long term/subacute care administration.
    • Must possess the ability to work harmoniously with and supervise other personnel.
    • Must possess the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret the programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures set forth by the facility/company that are necessary for providing quality care and maintaining a sound operation and Culture of Excellence
