The Assistant Director of Institutional Research designs and leads institutional research studies evaluating the effectiveness of the organization's programs and policies. Assists in directing and overseeing institutional research for a university/college. Being an Assistant Director of Institutional Research requires a bachelor's degree. Manages data collection and analysis and oversees the formulation of research reports. In addition, Assistant Director of Institutional Research typically reports to Institutional Research Director. The Assistant Director of Institutional Research typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.
