Being a Civil/Construction/Structural Engineer VI leads inspections of aging or compromised structures. Responsibilities also include estimating costs, estimating personnel and material needs, preparing proposals, and establishing completion dates. In addition, Civil/Construction/Structural Engineer VI may oversee improvement projects. Requires a bachelor's degree in engineering. May require a Professional Engineer License (PE). Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. Working as a Civil/Construction/Structural Engineer VI typically requires 12+ years of related experience. Achievement and depth of knowledge of specialization or field is the main differentiator. Advisory role on complex and challenging projects and initiatives.
