Job Description

The Clinical Information Systems Senior Manager administers the implementation of electronic health record (EHR) systems, bed management systems, computerized physician order entry systems, or any other relevant health information systems. Manages the implementation, maintenance, and analysis of data from clinical informatics systems. Being a Clinical Information Systems Senior Manager evaluates and establishes initiatives to improve systems or integrate new systems. Reviews and synthesizes analysis of data produced by these systems to identify trends and areas for improvement and to ensure systems are functioning properly. In addition, Clinical Information Systems Senior Manager researches and stays up-to-date on new clinical informatics trends and technology. Requires a master's degree in nursing. Requires Registered Nurse (RN) license. Typically reports to a director. The Clinical Information Systems Senior Manager typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Working as a Clinical Information Systems Senior Manager typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience.
