The Facilities Planning and Design Specialist III conducts evaluations of current facilities to assess short-term and long-term space needs and produce feasibility studies. Plans building or refurbishment projects focused on effectively utilizing spaces and resources to support the organization's physical facility and space needs. Being a Facilities Planning and Design Specialist III estimates costs for labor, materials, and services. Prepares and reviews designs, layout plans, specifications, and standards that comply with building regulations, industry best practices, and organizational requirements. In addition, Facilities Planning and Design Specialist III generates, monitors, and updates project plans and timelines with task details, deliverables, and status updates. Coordinates construction and installation processes and expedites delivery of materials required by projects. May require a bachelor's degree or equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. Being a Facilities Planning and Design Specialist III work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.
