The Finance Policy and Operations Director oversees all financial functions including accounting, budget, credit, risk, tax, and treasury. Directs an organization's financial policies, planning, reporting and controls. Being a Finance Policy and Operations Director typically requires a master's degree. Generally is the second most senior finance executive. In addition, Finance Policy and Operations Director typically reports to Chief Financial Officer. May require a CPA. The Finance Policy and Operations Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function.
