Conducts inspections of new and existing buildings to ensure compliance with fire and safety codes. Being a Fire Safety Building Inspector knowledge of codes and ordinances, construction and alarm systems. Conducts fire investigations. In addition, Fire Safety Building Inspector has completed fire inspection training and may require certification as Uniform Fire Code Inspector and /or other local licensing. Typically requires AS degree. Being a Fire Safety Building Inspector has gained proficiency in multiple competencies relevant to the job. Works independently within established procedures associated with the specific job function. Working as a Fire Safety Building Inspector typically requires 3-5 years of related experience.
