Job Description

The Head of Rehabilitation sets and implements guidelines for rehabilitation programs such as physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and other therapies. Directs the programs and staff of the rehabilitation services department. Being a Head of Rehabilitation maintains working relationships with community agencies. Develops and implements policies and procedures pertaining to staffing and the budget for the department. In addition, Head of Rehabilitation monitors treatment and progress of patients. May require an advanced degree. Typically reports to top management. The Head of Rehabilitation typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.
