The Head of Total Rewards engages in high-level strategic planning of compensation and benefits programs designed to attract and retain employees. Plans and directs compensation and benefits policies, objectives, and initiatives. Being a Head of Total Rewards monitors trends, provides recommendations, and suggests initiatives. Ensures compensation and benefits programs remain within budgetary constraints and align with organizational goals. In addition, Head of Total Rewards consults with legal and financial professionals to ensure compliant and financially sound programs. Evaluates vendors, negotiates and completes contracts. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to top management. The Head of Total Rewards manages a departmental function within a broader corporate function. Develops major goals to support broad functional objectives. Approves policies developed within various sub-functions and departments.
