The Lean/Six Sigma Programs Director leads cross functional teams to study and develop effective tools, methods, and systems to ensure that the products and services are of the highest quality. Develops and implements an organization's total quality management strategy with policies, programs, and initiatives. Being a Lean/Six Sigma Programs Director utilizes Six Sigma/Lean methodologies. Creates standards used to measure quality results and to drive continuous improvements. In addition, Lean/Six Sigma Programs Director requires a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to top management. Typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. Typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. The Lean/Six Sigma Programs Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity.
