The Licensed Physical Therapist (LPT) I establishes treatment plans and treats patients using a variety of methods, including exercises, stretching maneuvers, hands-on therapy, and equipment to ease patients' pain and help them recover. Evaluates and treats patients recovering from injury, disease, surgery, or other ailments. Being a Licensed Physical Therapist (LPT) I documents and reports on patients' progress. Works cooperatively with physicians, case managers, and insurance adjusters. In addition, Licensed Physical Therapist (LPT) I may supervise physical therapy assistants, aides, and athletic trainers. Requires a doctorate degree in physical therapy. Requires state license to practice physical therapy. Typically reports to a manager. Being a Licensed Physical Therapist (LPT) I work is closely managed. Works on projects/matters of limited complexity in a support role.
