Job Description

The Occupational/Environmental Medicine Physician prepares patients for return to work after illness or injury or may act as a consultant to identify workplace health hazards. Oversees the patient's diagnosis, treatment, and prevention of occupational illnesses and/or injury. Being an Occupational/Environmental Medicine Physician recommends tests to determine extent of illness or help diagnose condition. Examines patients to determine the appropriate course of treatment. In addition, Occupational/Environmental Medicine Physician requires a degree in medicine from an accredited school of medicine, and is licensed to practice medicine. May require at least 2-4 years of clinical experience in occupational medicine. May report to a medical director. Occupational/Environmental Medicine Physician's years of experience requirement may be unspecified. Certification and/or licensing in the position's specialty is the main requirement.
